Celebration of Black Womanhood
o Builds an inclusive and supportive environment for women of color at Carolina. Events focus on empowering women of color and advancing them as people and professionals.
Black History Month
o Head of all of our events for the month of February. Collaborates with larger on campus organizations to raise awareness of black history and culture.
* NEW* Membership and Retention
o Heads selection processes of Royal Court, Central Committee, and Executive Board (includes launching application, interviewing candidates, and hosting election forums). Secondly, works to increase retention and engagement through special events planning, to include: the annual BSM ball, Umoja awards, Culture on the Lawn (in conjunction with Outreach), and other social events for BSM.
Minority Wellness and Health Disparities
o Events focused on educating black community of health disparities and inequities. Engages community in best health and wellness practices. Attend Minority Health Conference at Gilling’s School of Public Health.
o Group that focuses on activism on campus and within the Triangle region. Seeks to educate on best practices of activism and collaborate with other on-campus activist groups to put those practices to use.
Service and Education
o Handles all service and community involvement initiatives.
